"Zerg Rush" Google Easter egg game

The Really superb latest easter egg of the google is "Zerg Rush". This easter egg is like a real time strategyvideo game where alines called as Zerg's are fought for the amount of time like a starcraft. 



A google Search for the term "Zerg Rush" in the search box makes the show to start, A bunch of yellow and red zeros with the font design of Google logo  starts spreading themselves on the search results page and destroy those same results.The Yellow and red zero circles can be clicked on them to destroy those circles to obtain points and while in that process one can notice the little Os are now running around the screen attacking and destroying every search result – The life bars depleting in true RTS style is also seen at the same moment.


The term Zerg is a Alien in of the starcraft series of videogames and the term "zerg rush" is one  of the known term in real time strategy game circles. It's used to describe a situation when any player tries to overwhelm his opponent with a mass of units during a multiplayer match.






Google stores the score for each "round" of play along with the "APM" (actions per minute) number, which is the number of times you click on the mouse to defeat those red and yellow foes. In the end, the circles then form two big "G" letters on the screen. The final result can be shared in one's google Plus account.

How Much Traffic does Google Easter Eggs Bring

People Might have wondered on how much traffic(visitors) the Google easter eggs can bring to the site. Youtube easter eggs "snow", "playing snake", "wadsworth constant"

Youtube being a google product also has its own kind of easter eggs which can are similar to that of google search based easter eggs and just as many youtube tricks were shared in the blog before now 3 different youtube easter eggs are explained in brief here.

1) Playing Snake in Youtube : Snake game can be played while watching videos on youtube asusually. While watching a video hold the left key and then press the up key while still holding the left key which makes the snake game to be launched.The process of the game loading happens in 2 steps basically, holding the left arrow key makes the video to rewind and load momentarily and pressing the up arrow key while the video is loading makes the player to launch the snake game.



The trick basically works for youtube's new player only and for those videos only without annotations and ads in the video, also the trick is limited to videos played on youtube only and doesn't work on embedded videos. Here is a example video of how the thing works basically.




2) Snowfall effects in youtube : The youtube player has a new button of a snowflake clicking which while playing a video provides a snowfall effect in the video being watched similar to that of google search's let it snow. The search queries for things like snow and christmas gets a simplified snow animation on the search query.

3) Wadsworth Skip : In Youtube adding &wadsworth=1 to the URL will apply Wadsworth's constant (skip 30%). Basically Wadsworth Constant is a fundamental idea that the true meaning of a video, conversation, or comment approaches importance after approximately 30% of it has been skipped over. so applying wadsworth constant to youtube videos make the video to skip approx 30% of the video.

Google search Easter eggs "Hanukkah" , "let it snow" , "christmas" and "kwanzaa"

360 degree rotation of any Web page/site

With "do a barrel roll" search easter egg of google becoming famous(if your haven't tried it yet just try it now and comeback here) and the stuff of the same and other easter eggs being explained in our previous blog post named A Mega List of 56 Google Easter eggs.

This page doing a barrel roll when loaded can be observed. this can be done by adding javascript codes in the page.

The 360 degree rotation of the page can be done in 2 ways

1) by adding the javascript code as the link in that page will make the page do a barrel roll on its own like this TipsNTweaks Barrel Roll.

• "octal" google search for ocatal gives the result of value of ocatal in octal number system just below the search bar.
• "Binary" google search for Binary gives the equivalent value of binary in binary numbering system just below the google search bar.
• "searching for jason isaacs" on the google uk based version gives the result as "Hello to Jason Isaacs" which in turn is a reference to a kermode and mayo's film reviews as it greets jason isaacs with hello every week.
• "qingming festival" A google search for the term gives a view of small leaves of a tree's branches and chinese wish beneath it. the festival is celebrated as ancestors day by remembering their ancestors and performing some rituals which is short is called as qingming in chinese.
• "Zerg Rush" search of google gives an wonderfull playfull experience of gaming where the bubbles come out and erase the data on the search screen if it is not shot down and people can try shooting down as many bubbles as possible before the screen is filled with bubbles in shape of 2 G's like " G G" and the number of bubbles shot down at the end will present as points which can be posted to their accounts.
